The Bravehearts Men’s basketball team has returned home with a gold medal after emerging victorious in the Bridging Sports Foundation Tournament held in Lusaka, Zambia. The team defeated Matero Warriors 71-50 in the final, capping off an impressive run that included a semi-final win over Matero Magic.
The ladies’ team also had a strong showing, ultimately claiming silver after falling to Green Buffaloes 40-43 in the final. Along the way, they notched wins over Napsa Breeze and Lady Lynx of Zimbabwe.
Fahad Billy was recognized as the tournament’s Most Valuable Player, taking home a K300,000 prize.
Team patron Griffin Kalua praised the team’s performance, saying, “It was a good outing in Zambia, and I’m very happy with how we represented Malawi. With the right approach, determination, commitment, and passion, anything is possible.”
