The movie ‘Welcome to Maula Prison’ is set to be released on the 2nd of next month.
The movie will reportedly show what life is like in prison. According to 4kaya Films Inc, they have release a three-minute trailer today, April 7, to give Malawians a taste of what the movie is about.
Mr. Kamwendo thanked the government through the prisons department for allowing them to film the movie at Maula Prison. He spoke while addressing a press conference in Lilongwe.
Mr. Kamwendo said many Malawians have learned a lot about prison life through the movie and he invites Malawians to see for themselves what the movie is about.
The movie cost 40 million kwacha of which 17 million kwacha was received from Macra through the Universal Service Fund.
