Laws Campus has emerged as the overall champion of the Vice chancellor’s Trophy, dominating the major disciplines of football, netball, volleyball, and basketball.
The just-ended tournament saw Laws Campus teams go undefeated, securing first positions in all four major sports.
On the final day, Laws Campus thrashed Kaning’ina Campus 3-1 in football, 3-2 in volleyball, and 39-16 in netball. In basketball, Laws outsmarted Ekwendeni Mighty Campus 110-70.
The newly Introduced girls’ football category saw Laws and Kaning’ina Campuses form a joint team, which defeated a combined team from Ekwendeni Mighty and ECoHS via post-match penalties.
ECoHS secured runner-up positions in football, volleyball, and basketball, while finishing third in netball. Mighty Campus emerged second in netball, third in football and basketball, and last in volleyball. Kaning’ina Campus finished third in volleyball and last in football, basketball, and netball.
Individual awards were also presented, with Laws Campus students Ephraim Munthali and Innocent Mphande being named best footballer and volleyballer, respectively. ECoHS’ Chimango was awarded best basketeer, while Brian Magayo won the FIFA category. Dennis Mwasangwale took top honors in chess, and Apocalipto from Laws won in bawo. Precious Khuthe and Teresa Chirambo secured first places in the boys’ and girls’ 200-meter races, respectively.
The Mr. and Miss UNILIA titles wer” awarded to Bentry Ziba from Kaning’ina and Rabbana Khan from Laws.
