A shocking turn of events that has left fans and superstars alike emotional as WWE veteran Ron “R-Truth” Killings has officially parted ways with the company, concluding a remarkable 17-year run characterized by humor, heart, and historic achievements.
At 53, Killings shared the news of his release on social media, expressing sincere gratitude to the WWE and his loyal fanbase.

“I just got released from WWE,” he wrote. “I want to thank WWE for the ride, but MOSTLY I want to thank each and EVERYONE OF YOU who was along for the ride.”

His departure follows a recent storyline with WWE Undisputed Champion John Cena, where he faced off against Cena in a match that ended in controversy. Killings’ final televised appearance was a bout against JC Mateo on SmackDown.

The news has prompted an outpouring of support from within the wrestling community. Rhea Ripley described the moment as “heartbreaking,” while commentator Pat McAfee commended R-Truth for his ability to bring joy to every segment he appeared in. Kevin Owens called him “an incredible, timeless performer,” and The Miz, reflecting on their time as the tag team The Awesome Truth, described it as one of the best runs of his career.

One user wrote, “It’s time for Truth to take up the baton for Cenation now,” hinting at a symbolic passing of the torch from Cena to R-Truth. Throughout his illustrious career, R-Truth collected numerous accolades, including two WWE United States Championships, two WWE Tag Team Championships, and an unprecedented 54 reigns as WWE 24/7 Champion. Before his WWE success, he made history in TNA by becoming the first recognized Black NWA World Heavyweight Champion.
