Malawian YouTuber and content creator Jaa Kev, whose real name is Kelvin Ngumuya, recently hosted South African rapper Nasty C on his show, The Jaa Kev Show. This is one of the biggest achievements for a Malawian online show so far.
The episode was recorded in Johannesburg, South Africa, where Jaa Kev is currently working on other projects. It was sponsored by 888 Bets Malawi and shared on the Madness Entertainment YouTube channel, where it quickly went viral, getting over 34,000 views in just a few hours.
In the interview, Nasty C talked about many topics, including:
1. His new album I Love It Here, and a deluxe version coming soon.
2. How being a father has changed his life.
3. Mental health and how therapy has helped him.
4. His relationship with fellow rapper A-Reece.
5. A special memory and advice he got from the late rapper AKA.
One moment that stood out was when Jaa Kev asked Nasty C to name any Malawian artist he knows. Nasty C laughed and said he didn’t know any yet, but he promised to do his homework. This part of the interview caused a lot of talk online. Some fans understood, while others said it’s time big African artists start noticing talent from Malawi too. Some Malawian artists even posted funny “Malawi music guides” online to help Nasty C learn more.
Many fans and local blogs praised the show, calling it a big step for Malawian content creators. The Face of Malawi described it as a “huge milestone,” and others said it proves that Malawian online shows can attract big names from outside the country.
With over 144,000 YouTube subscribers, The Jaa Kev Show is growing fast. This interview with Nasty C shows that Malawian voices are being heard across Africa—and that local creators like Jaa Kev are opening new doors for the entertainment industry.
