The Mzuzu Police have apprehended three individuals – Elia Levison, Jimmy Nyirenda, and Jimmy Adam – in connection with armed robbery and murder cases. The arrests followed investigations linking them to violent crimes in the city.
During the operation, another suspect, Patrick Phiri, was fatally shot after pointing a loaded pistol at police officers.
The suspects are accused of robbing Andrew Katona of K5 million and a Samsung phone, stealing K100 million from businessman Hassim Irfan, and murdering Chiukepo Sichali. Police recovered stolen items, including a vehicle, firearm, and ammunition.
The suspects will face court proceedings soon.
