The 2024 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) MVP and Golden Boot winner Temwa Chawinga who is also a Kansas city and scorchers forward has won a player of the month for May.
She achieved this award after scoring 3 goals in 4 matches and making it her second NWSL Player of the month award of this 2025 campaign after she secured her first back in March.
Chawinga has now won the award five times in her career since joining the league ahead of the 2024 season. She now owns the NWSL record for most Player of the Month honours, breaking the tie she previously shared with Kim Little and Megan Rapinoe.
Chawinga is also the current top scorer for her club Kansas City in the league after scoring 6 goal making her to fall a goal behind the current top scorer in the league Barbara Banda of Orlando Pride who has scored 7 goals.
